Lady Mole Catcher is featured on Dave

Introduction

Norfolk’s very own Lady Mole Catcher®, Louise Chapman, was offered the amazing opportunity to travel to Australia to work with Australian pest controllers and appear in ‘Deadliest Pests Down Under’ currently featured on DAVE.

Read my story here…

I received a call on November 11th 2016, inviting me to go to Australia for 10 weeks to deal with some of the world’s deadliest pests. I could see that the opportunity was a once in a lifetime experience.

I checked with my son Harry that he was happy for me to go, and he said I absolutely must. So having met the producers, 3 weeks later I was on my way to Heathrow for my amazing adventure Down Under.

I started with a glass of champagne and some oysters in the Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar and having stopped o at Abu Dhabi and a quick facial on the LaMer counter, I arrived in Brisbane just under 24 hours later.

I had now also met with the lovely people who would share my journey with me.

What an amazing country Australia is. I saw that every thing is pristine, people are happy all the time, everyone is so positive and that is reflected in the language they use, where everything is beautiful, awesome and too easy.

Our group was dispersed to different parts of Australia and I landed in Airlie Beach, which is a tropical paradise in the Whitsunday Islands. When I went to Whitehaven Beach, one of the most iconic beaches in the world, I discovered the high silica content of the sand at 98%, meant the sand was used to make the glass lens in the Hubble Space Telescope.

I had many memorable and amazing experiences during my time there, but one person whom I will always remember has to be Loose, the wild man of Batemans Bay. I had such fun riding on Glen’s Harley Davidson, in Sydney and would love to ride one again.

Trying to tie a 44 year old salt-water crocodile, that has 66 teeth to a post, was probably one of the scariest things I’ve ever done, and I wasn’t a great fan of trying to capture venomous snakes to put them in a bag and relocate them back to the wild. After all they can kill you and although there is anti venom, that too can give you a nasty reaction with long term side effects.

I travelled up and down the East Coast of Australia, visiting Brisbane, Sydney, Bateman’s Bay, Airlie Beach, Townsville and Rockhampton. Each place gave me a truly warm welcome and I met some amazing people and shared a journey, which I will never forget.

If you would like to hear more about my adventure down under, I would be delighted to visit you and give a talk. Email louise@ladymolecatcher.co.uk or call me on 01603 25 99 45 or 07876 14 11 53.

Just a short word of thanks for last week - you were fantastic and kept the guys entertained very well. We have some very good speakers but you are definitely up there with the best of them. Many thanks once again. I hope our paths cross again in the future.
